Greetings NAC Nation,
“Our old people fixed this trail for us. They made tracks around this holy land for us to follow. Even though they’re gone, we’ll be singing the songs they sang and repeating the good words they said for generations to come.”

Safe and easy travels

Warm greetings.  Around this time of year, families may be laying down prayers at home fireplaces across Indian Country before traveling to south Texas.  These travels to the Gardens honor family pilgrimage and to replenish their Medicine. On your travels, whether it be via air, ground, or rail, be mindful of the documents needed for a harmonious travel experience with the Sacrament and revered Native American Church ceremonial items.

The documents that will aid the pilgrimage include:
•    personal identification, such as a driver’s license and a tribally issued ID,
•    a duly signed Authorization Permit for Peyote issued and signed by a bonafide NAC entity,
•    a current NAC membership card, and
•    a sales receipt issued by the Distributor.

For Next Gen readers who may not have had the experience of acquiring Medicine, either by mail or in person, I encourage us to reach out to elders, custodians, or chapter officers to learn about the process.  It is always a good time for experienced practitioners to share the information, processes, and documents with the next generation of the Native American Church.

Wishing you safe and easy travels in 2025.  And upon return to your fireplace with the Medicine, may you pray with gratitude for the old ways, the teachings, good health and goodness.
