Greetings NAC Nation,

“Our old people fixed this trail for us. They made tracks around this holy land for us to follow. Even though they’re gone, we’ll be singing the songs they sang and repeating the good words they said for generations to come.”
~ Rollin Haag, Sr.
Journey safely and easily.

January 27, 2026As the season arrives, families across Indian Country are planning their travels to south Texas in the coming months. Families and the NAC community will gather at their home fireplaces to offer prayers before embarking on a trip to the Gardens in south Texas.  For many families and individuals, these trips are a cherished tradition, honoring family pilgrimages, and renewing connections to Medicine.  Some families are making the trip feeling the void left by the passing of loved ones.  The trip is made to carry on their legacy as they continue to guide the prayers and ceremonial ways for generations to come.

Experienced practitioners are encouraged to share their knowledge, processes, and required documents with younger members of the Native American Church. Next Generation members – seek guidance from elders, custodians, or chapter officers before setting out on your journey, seek information and guidance.  When preparing for your travels, remember to carry the necessary documents if you plan on replenishing Medicine, which include:

  • Personal identification, such as a driver’s license and a tribally issued ID
  • A valid NAC membership card
  • An Authorization Permit for Peyote, properly signed by a recognized NAC entity
  • A sales receipt from the Distributor

Wishing you safe and easy travels in 2026. Upon returning home with Medicine, may your prayers be filled with gratitude for the traditions, teachings, health, and goodness passed down through generations.
